The fall season is filled with color, but in later days, I found the leaves and plants, as they withered or faded, were as breathtaking as the early fall riot of yellows, greens, and reds. Even in black & white, the shapes of the leaves are like charcoal or pen and ink drawings that captivate a quiet loveliness.
Countless visual experiences in life often slip by unnoticed as we move through our routines—whether traveling by train, driving in cars, or hurrying down busy streets. My primary focus is on what may appear ordinary at first glance, but the commonplace prompts my curiosity and attention. I find significance in the shapes and graphic elements of the fascinating objects or captivating scenes I stumble upon with my camera in hand. As I work with each image, I am mindful of producing a result that not only reflects what my camera captures, but also what I observe and appreciate, as an artist, that catches my eye.
